More fly-bys
Most of these are LJ-specific. Most of you also follow me on LJ. This seems to be a win/win. *g*

Bullet! I have 7 DW invites if anyone wants to abandon Facebook parasite ship, or at least ready the lifeboat.
Bullet! On my LJ, I have successfully hidden the "repost to Facebook" option. If you want to repost to Facebook against my explicit request, you'll have to jump through some hoops. I shed a tear for you.
Butter! (Okay, that was a typo, but I'm keeping it) [personal profile] valtyr ♪ ♫ loves me, this I know, ♫♫ ♪ for the shiny thing I got in the mail yesterday tells me so. ♪
Arrow! Sheriff Joe Arpaio is being sued by the US Justice Department. This gives me warm fuzzies. I would cheer were that man to be thrown into one of his own tent-city prisons. (Which is not happening, I know, but a girl can dream.)

Okay, I'll stop with the quicky updates and speak actual words. Lately, I have been getting a lot of joy out of scanning the comments on The Colbert Report Website for people who take Stephen seriously. Mostly, I get my joy out of vegitating, because I have no ability to do anything other than the most basic of my duties. The instructors, you see, are actually Zombies. Right now, my brain is being digested by a history prof three buildings away.

Writing actually got done yesterday! Amazing lol. I'm sure it'll pick up again once I've had a chance to catch up on my sleep. @-@ Exhaustion does not lend well to creativity.

The Daddy drama of a month ago continues in silence. He hasn't tried to call or write, thank goodness. Mom reports that he regularly looks over the emails I've sent that explain my grievances, but is confused by them. This is probably all for the best. (heavy sigh)

Hypothetically, I will have a Papa at home with me this Labor Day. \o/ (Please please please don't let anything go wrong again.)

Cheating the Enemy
Sure thing. *g* Here's a variation on the code I used—this will hide both. I can't get rid of the "adjust your settings" thing. Believe me, I tried. :/ Bah. Just copy/paste it into your CSS tweaks for your layout. Looking at your code, it should work for you too.

.lj-view-reply .b-repost-item {
display: none;
.lj-view-entry .b-repost-item {
display: none;

(edited because I typo'd in the code. D'OH.)

Conversations in Locked Houses
(tosses a life saver) Check your e-mail!

I think that LJ management just sincerely doesn't get the culture that's sprung up on the website. LJ users are so protective of our privacy. I remember when the "last updated on" thing started being shown on the profile. A lot of people were worried that someone would see it and realize there'd been a post they were filtered out of. Most of us come to LJ to leave the rest of the web/world behind!

It's like... If LJ posts are conversations, locked posts are conversations where you pointedly close the doors and check the windows. Yeah, the other people can take the story outside if they want, but your actions have made it clear that you don't want them to do that. Whereas having the Facebook link makes it less like a closed room and more like a quick duck around the corner. Less formal, less pointed, and a lot less private. :\
